Mending Invisible Wings: a healing journal for mothers following the loss of their baby through late-term miscarriage, stillbirth, or neonatal death.

I am a perinatal mentor, childbirth educator and birth doula. In Feb,
2006, I attended the birth of a dear friend whose perfect baby, when
born, simply never took a breath. Her beautiful labor ended in a tragic
birth. Through Samuel's death, and the many long days (and months and
years) following his death, a journal was born: Mending Invisible Wings.
It is just published, just out there, a gift for mothers who have lost
a baby due to late-term miscarriage, stillbirth, or neonatal death. It
is a journal, with gently-guided Creative Healing Expressions and
Ceremonies of Compassion, art to color, blank pages to create and draw
and write and paint, and a collection of bitrth loss writings from
mothers, a father, a midwife, and doulas. Authored by myself,
co-authored and illustrated by Shiloh Sophia McCloud, with a foreword
by Phyllis Klaus, it is a lovely way of exploring and journeying the
babyloss path, towards mended wings.
